We departed Punto Pulpito early this morning with plans to sail to Punta Chivato, but with a nice breeze out of the southeast and boatspeeds above 7kts at times, we decided to press on to Sweet Pea Cove. This is a popular stopover when planning to provision
in Santa Rosalia and it did not disappoint. We got in before sundown navigating the shallows to a good spot, and shortly thereafter were joined by two other boats making this a nice, uncrowded anchorage. Did I mention we caught three fish on the way
here!! That means dinner was delicious; dorado and vegetables.
Our plans are to start early tomorrow making the 11 mile run to Santa Rosalia for fuel, water, and fresh produce. It will be a busy morning as we have to get to the market before it closes at 1PM.
This was our longest passage to date on our trip north and the leg after this will be even longer. Being underway in the Sea of Cortez, even when we have to motor a little, is a spectacular experience.
